three boys selling lemonade at a lemonade stand

The NCP Saturday Showcase is a feature story that recognizes students, staff and alumni for their exceptional achievements and contributions to the school community. This week, we have the pleasure of recognizing two Turkey Run Elementary students and one Parke Heritage Middle School student who donated to the Marshall and Bloomingdale Blessing boxes.

For the third consecutive year, Harrison, Jaxton, and Hendrix have continued their summer tradition of organizing a lemonade stand. This annual event is more than a way for local residents to enjoy refreshing drinks; it serves as a platform for the trio to make a positive impact in their community.

Each year, the boys select a different cause to support with the proceeds from their lemonade stand. In their first year, they contributed to the Christmas light fund in Bloomingdale, brightening the holiday season for many. Last year, they chose to support the Buddy Bag program, providing essential supplies to children. This year, their focus shifted to stocking the blessing boxes in Marshall and Bloomingdale.

Harrison and Hendrix rode their bicycles around town to deliver special orders to local businesses and family members. In addition to selling lemonade and cookies, the boys accepted donations from community members willing to support their cause.

With the funds raised, the group selected a variety of items to fill the blessing boxes. Their contributions included canned goods, spaghetti noodles and sauce, alfredo sauce and noodles, rice and macaroni, boxed milk and canned water, Ramen noodles, condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and barbecue sauce; salt and pepper, popcorn and chips; granola bars and peanut butter; and plastic cups

Their efforts are a reminder of the importance of compassion, generosity, and the joy that comes from helping others. Harrison, Jaxton, and Hendrix are setting a positive example for their peers and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them.

The Saturday Showcase provides a platform for students, staff and alumni to be acknowledged for their accomplishments and serves as inspiration for others to strive for excellence. If you would like to submit a nomination, please complete this form. https://forms.gle/Mxims77Qn2mPgaVMA
